- Stripped Cuckoo in Kruger on a clean perch with a decent blurred background. Cuckoos don’t often give you this photographic opportunity.
- Stripped Cuckoo – closer but with a cluttered background. The shot was taken in the Kruger Park.
- Great Spotted Cuckoo taken from below the bird. The colouring is much more interesting from the top. It has an unmistakable grey crest, spotted back and creamy coloured breast feathers. This shot was taken in Mashatu Game Reserve.
- Striped (or Levaillants) Cuckoo taking off from some reeds in front of the Ratelpan hide along the Timbavati River in the mid-region of the Kruger Park.
- Levaillants Cuckoo clinging to a reed stem. The Levaillants Cuckoo has black stripes on its white neck. The Levailliants looks very similar to the Jacobin Cuckoo which as a pure white neck.
- A Diederik Cuckoo overlooking the vlei at Mashatu. This was the only one I managed to take a shot of but you could hear them all over the reserve early in the morning.
- A Stripped Cuckoo in Mashatu.In the first three months of the year there seem to be an abundance of Cuckoos in Mashatu.
